What I Do

I help individuals and organizations translate complex ideas and communicate more effectively with policymakers, funders, and members of the media—and of course the people and communities most affected by their work.

Many of my clients are individual academics or subject-matter experts. I also work with nonprofits and other organizations on institutional storytelling and strategy.

Below are a few examples of the types of projects we might work on together.

Branding and communications strategy for academic, research, and policy organizations

If you lead a nonprofit, academic department, research lab, or policy lab—or are in the process of launching one—I can help with branding, content strategy, media relations, and more.

Op-eds and other public writing

I help outline, write, and place op-eds in local, national, and international outlets. Want to write on Substack or in some other capacity? Let’s talk about it!

Book launches

If you have a book coming out, I can help distill your key messages, prepare you for interviews, and strategize around promotional opportunities.

Digital events and presentations

If you want to launch an online event series or prepare for a major presentation with a new audience, I can help you with everything from designing and launching your event to preparing presentation materials.

With almost twenty years of experience in policy communications, I’m ready to work with you on projects large and small.
